How to install Event Calendar PHP
Setting MySQL database
Event Calendar PHP requires PHP 4 or higher and MySQL 3 or higher to run on your server - ask your hosting provider about PHP / MySQL versions.
Before starting the installation you will need to create your database:
- Open the control panel(cpanel) of your hosting account.
- Find where to create MySQL database.
- When you create your database you will need to supply a Database name, Database user and Database password. You will aslo need to know the database server name — usually 'localhost'. Save all these details on your local machine for future reference on something such as Notepad.
- If you use your hosting account's 'CPanel' to create your database you must set Privileges to ALL for the Database user.
- If you have problems with creating database - ask your web hosting company - normally they provide 24h email, phone or chat free support.
Unzip or unrar, upload and install
- Unzip the .zip file received from us. You can use programs such as Winzip, Winrar, or Stuffit Expander (Mac). They have all have trial versions.
- Next, upload all files to your website. You can either upload the complete folder (named "SCRIPTFOLDER") or you can upload all the files individually to a folder you created in the root directory of your website.
- Next step is to run the installation file:

When you login, you will see the administration area -> Calendar List(it will be created one calendar named "My Calendar" after the initial install).
If you create more than one calendar you can order them by Calendar name. Also you can preview, edit and delete calendars. Only the first calendar couldn't be deleted. You can change calendar with the drop down next to "Logout" button.

Create Calendar. You can create as many calendar as you need, just fill Calendar name and Description and hit "Create Calendar" button.

Admin Options. Here are Time options(time and date format), Currency options(abbreviation, sign and position of the sign) and Events options(show events in popup and/or tooltip).

Calendar Options. Here you can change css styles of the calendar - colors, fonts, sizes and distances.

Language Options. Here you can change days of the week, months, "next" and "previous" buttons and some other words in your language.

Events listing. This is the events list, button "Events" -> "Event List". You can create new events, edit or delete them.

Create Event. You can create new event from main menu 'Events' -> Add Event'.
At the top of 'Add Event' page form you will see Event Date, time and repeating event. There is one option called "No time" - you can choose it if the event is for whole day. For example - Birthday.
You need to fill also the Event Title, Color and background(optional), Price(optional), Maximum Attendance(optional) and Event Description(optional). You can choose and image for the event, it also optional.

If your page is with .php suffix it is recommended to use php include. The php include method is more SEO friendly than the iframe.
